Channel 1 Trophy - Russia - Feb. 5-7, 2021

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

From IFS Magazine:

The results of the jump competition - knowing the jumping "beans" among Russian ladies, not really a surprise :)

Today the rhythm dance and short programs were performed - first up was the RD, then men SP; then pairs SP; and finally ladies SP. As you might expect, the final discipline was important to the team results with the lead flipping after they all skated.

The results going into tomorrow's free skates:

It was very close but, in the end, with the ladies skating last, Team Alina pulled ahead for the win:

The prize money:
  • 1 million rubles to Team Alina for the jump event win
  • 1M rubles for Team Evgenia as winners of the fan vote (they actually also won 6 of the 8 events)
  • 3M rubles for Team Evgenia for participating
  • 5M rubles and the trophy for Team Alina for the win
FYI - 1 million rubles = US$13,400.00

The skaters seemed to enjoy the event.
