Want to watch a skating competition?

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Want to watch a skating competition?

Post by Elizabeth »

The Third Annual Peggy Fleming Trophy will be taking place on Friday, July 17th as a virtual competition: https://usfigureskatingfanzone.com/spor ... ition.aspx
Entrants have skated and recorded their program at their own rink. The videos, which the athletes each submitted to event organizers, will be assessed by a judging panel, including national, international and Olympic judges, who will judge the event remotely. Each competitor skated a 3:30-minute program focusing on the skater's ability to artistically express and present a complete program while demonstrating superior technical skills. The music, creativity and overall performance are the emphasis for the competition and all skating elements are assessed from an artistic point of view.

The link to the video corner to watch this: https://usfigureskatingfanzone.com/watch/

By the way, Amber Glenn has posted a video of herself landing a 3A - I guess that was more important to accomplish that doing a program for this competition :D

Some folks are calling this a possible way forward in these pandemic times - having some competitions in a virtual way that don't require travel by competitors, coaches or judges. If so, we would need a lot of rules and regulations!!

I wasn't able to see this last night, using my Firefox browser.

Apparently I should have tried with Chrome

If you use Chrome, you should be able to watch it now here: https://t.co/xsxp2UW96Q?amp=1

If anyone is interested in the results.....

Thanks Elizabeth. Enjoyed reading about 9 year old Jack, his skating, thoughts, and artwork. What a sweet boy. We will have to watch for him in the future. AssumIng there is a future.. I doubt there will be a 2020/21 season, but then I’m not known for optomism.
