2025 Canadian National Skating Championships to be Hosted at Place Bell for First Time in Event History

OTTAWA, ON (May 8, 2024) – Skate Canada is pleased to announce Laval, Que., as the host destination for the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships. The competition will take place at Place Bell – the city’s world-class sports and recreation complex – from January 14-19, 2025. The Championships will feature Canada’s top figure skaters in men, women, pairs, ice dance, and synchronized skating competing at both the junior and senior levels.

“The 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships are an exciting opportunity to showcase our country’s impressive roster of figure skating talent,” said Karen Butcher, Skate Canada’s President. “Together with the City of Laval, we are thrilled to bring Canada’s top athletes to Place Bell and create an unforgettable experience for everyone.”

“Tourisme Laval is delighted and proud that Laval will host this major sports event. Our team is ready and determined to make this event a resounding success. Laval will assuredly live up to the rhythm of this competition. Athletes, organizers, and all those involved in the event will discover a vibrant tourist destination ideal for welcoming major sports events,” said Christine Métayer, President and General Manager of Tourisme Laval.

Athletes competing at the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships will be looking to qualify for spots on the Skate Canada National Team and the Canadian teams that will compete at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2025, the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2025, the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2025, the ISU World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships 2025 and the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2025.

The athletes competing at the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships will be announced later this year. Join our mailing list to be the first to receive event and ticket information for Skate Canada events.

Tickets for the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships will be available for pre-sale starting on Monday, August 19, at 10:00 AM ET, and on sale to the public on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM ET. Taking place at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec, from January 14-19, 2025, the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships will feature the country’s top figure skaters and synchronized skaters at both the junior and senior levels.

All-event tickets will be available for senior competition days, with ticket prices starting at $100. Day tickets will be available for junior events, with ticket prices starting at $10. All prices are in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes and fees. A maximum of eight tickets can be purchased per individual. Please note that there will be no Exhibition Gala this year.

The Junior day tickets are as follows:

• Tuesday, January 14 – Official Practices
• Wednesday, January 15 – Junior Men Short Program, Junior Rhythm Dance, Junior Women Short Program, Junior Synchro Short Program (starts at approximately 10:30)
• Thursday, January 16 – Junior Men Free Program, Junior Free Dance, Junior Pair Short Program, Opening Ceremony, Junior Synchro Free Program, Senior Synchro Short Program (starts at approximately 11:05)
• Friday, January 17 – Junior Pair Free Program, Junior Women Free Program (starts at approximately 11:35)

The all-event ticket package is broken up into four sessions, as follows:

• Friday, January 17 – Senior Men Short Program, Senior Synchro Free Program, Senior Pair Short Program (starts at approximately 17:00)
• Saturday, January 18 – Senior Women Short Program, Senior Rhythm Dance (starts at approximately 11:25)
• Saturday, January 18 – Senior Men Free Program, Senior Pair Free Program (starts at approximately 17:00)
• Sunday, January 19 – Hall of Fame Induction, Senior Women Free Program, Senior Free Dance (starts at approximately 11:20)

It's been hit and miss for the Grand Prix events this year due to visiting and caregiving with my Dad who is now 90 and still going strong. I am looking forward to seeing where it will be in 2026 (any rumors?) as I hope to attend.

FYI - the following skaters already have the necessary combined TES scores for 4CC: Newnham, Rakic, Sadovsky, Chiu, Gogolev & Edrian Paul Celestino (earned while he was competing for the Phillipines). [Antony Paradis has not yet competed internationally as a senior in order to achieve the minimums.]

Only Joni McPhail will be on site in Laval.
