Coaching changes and other CDN skating news

As you will read, some of her family have also made the move East.
She's looking forward to Skate Canada in Halifax - her mother is from Cole Harbour, NS (which has lots of connections for hockey fans).

This isn't just a coaching change - it's a country switch as well.

Tristan Taylor, age 22, and born in Regina (who previously skated for with Ashlyn Schmitz who is now partnered with Raine Eberle) announced via Instagram his intention to compete for Japan:

Hi everyone! I am so excited to announce my new partnership with Miyu Yunoki. We are training in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor World Arena under the guidance of Drew Meekins and Natalia Mishkutenok. We are so thrilled to begin this new journey and can’t wait to compete at the All West Japan Championships.

This is Miyu's first time competing in pairs since 2022 when she split with Shoya Ichihashi; she is 18.

Dana Sabatini-Speciale / Daniel Kaye are announced as a new ice dance team.
They will be competing for South Africa.
Her previous partner was Nicholas Buelow and they were on the Skate Canada Next Gen team 2022/23 & 2023/24.

Western Province Figure Skating would like to extend a warm welcome to Dana & Daniel who will be competing in Division A Senior Couples Ice Dance at the Western Province Championships 2024 next month!
They are a new Senior Ice Dance team!
Dana is from Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club has been her home club for the past 13 years. Dana represented Canada internationally on the JGP circuit for Ice Dance for the past two seasons. Daniel is from Nottingham, England and is South African through both of his parents. Daniel was the British Junior Solo Ice Dance Champion. Dana and Daniel currently train in Assago Milan IceLab with Barbara Fusar Poli’s coaching team; in collaboration with Andrew Hallam and Joey Russell at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club.
