This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.
After the late withdrawal of Daniel Grassl, Stephen Gogolev has now been assigned to this event
Grassl has withdrawn from both of his GPs as investigation continues into his missing of compulsory drug testing, apparently due to a failure to report his location while training in Russia.

A reminder that Europe has already had their clocks "fall back" from Daylight Saving Time. That means that on Friday and Saturday Angers is 5 hours ahead of EDT and on Saturday it is 6 hours ahead of ET, the usual difference.
The links are now up on the ISU YouTube channel for each segment of the event: https://www.youtube.com/user/SkatingISU
The times shown should be for your timezone - mine show in Eastern Times (Daylight time for Friday and Saturday and Standard Time for Sunday)
The Men SP is complete and there were some interesting results/surprises.

Stephen Gogolev was a very late replacement skater and he thinks that may even have helped him!
I am very happy I could show a clean program jump-wise today. Some points to surely improve on.
I learned that I will skate here last week Thursday or Friday. I pushed really hard after that, did three very intense training days as I actually had thought I would have a longer period without a competition.
I was less nervous than ahead of Skate America. Maybe that helped me today!
Amazing to have 2 men with a total score over 300 in a GP event!
Ilia has gained a spot at the Grand Prix Final with his result here and at Skate America.
They did it - skating last they got their personal best score and took the gold
It is the first time a Canadian pair has won the French leg of the GP since it started in 1995!
And Lia and Trennt have booked a ticket to the Grand Prix Final with their silver at Skate America and gold here
The medalists
The first medals awarded were those for Pairs
The press conference took place after the medal ceremony - the press conference photo
Danielle Earl is not only a wonderful skating photographer, she is a dedicated fan - today she was watching three competitions simultaneously, including the Grand Prix de France and two (or three) CDN sectionals!!
Meanwhile, the Europe on Ice team, whose photos of the medalists and top 3 I have shared today and yesterday and who took the podium photos above, finished their day in Angers with food from the "Golden Arches"
