The press release from Skate Canada on the team going to 4CC: https://skatecanada.ca/2023/02/eighteen ... pionships/

Eighteen Athletes to Represent Canada at the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
February 2, 2023/by Skate Canada
OTTAWA, ON (February 2, 2023) – A solid team of eighteen skaters will be competing from February 7-12, 2023 at the 2023 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships®, set to take place in Colorado Springs, USA. Canada will count a total of three entries in each of the women’s, men’s, pair and ice dance disciplines.
In the women’s field, the team will be led by two-time national champion and Golden Spin of Zagreb bronze medalist Madeline Schizas. She will be joined by Sara-Maude Dupuis, who recently placed third at the Skate Canada Challenge – Junior/Senior and fourth at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships, as well as the 2022 junior national champion Justine Miclette.
Two-time Olympian and 2023 national champion Keegan Messing will have his sights set on the podium as he competes in his final season. National Team member and Canadian Tire National Skating Championships silver medalist Conrad Orzel will be competing alongside him, as well as Stephen Gogolev, who placed fourth at the same event.
In the pair discipline, Grand Prix de France gold medalists Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps will be looking to add to their growing medal collection after the duo recently won their first national title. The newly formed team of Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud will also be competing in the event after placing first at the Skate Canada Challenge – Junior/Senior and third at nationals. Rounding out the team will be Skate America bronze medalists Kelly Ann Laurin and Loucas Éthier.
Canadian ice dance teams are expected to be very competitive, with all three teams winning medals on the Grand Prix circuit this season. 2023 national champions and Grand Prix finalists Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Soerensen will be among the top contenders, with the duo winning their first Grand Prix event last November. Skate Canada International and MK John Wilson Trophy bronze medalists Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha are also on the watch list, as are Skate America bronze medalists Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac. Unfortunately, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier have withdrawn in order to prioritize training and recovery leading up to the ISU World Figure Skating Championships.
The competition kicks off Thursday, February 9, with the women’s and men’s short programs, followed by the pair short program, rhythm dance and women’s free program on Friday. The pair and men’s medals will be awarded the following day, while ice dancers will conclude the event with the free dance on Sunday, February 12.

Thanks so much Elizabeth. In your experience, do you prefer to watch it on the ISU site versus CBC? I'm assuming it's the same feed? Perhaps one site has fewer streaming problems. I'm looking forward to watching the coverage on my brand new laptop that I got this week.

I now watch whatever I can on YouTube because I can watch that on my 50" smart TV (purchased late last year) - that includes the ISU feed and services from my church that I can't attend in person.kittykins wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 12:47 pm Thanks so much Elizabeth. For events outside Canada the CBC usually just re-streams the ISU stream.

I have to say I'm really looking forward to watching this. Thanks so much for all the info. Elizabeth. We all greatly appreciate it!
Thanks. Wow, that new TV must be wonderful! I have a 48 inch TV and I think I'd get a 50 inch next time. I'm also wondering about getting a Smart TV someday. Cable is so ridiculously expensive, and it's not like I watch a lot of TV other than sports and the odd show that often I can watch on CBC Gem.Elizabeth wrote: Tue Feb 07, 2023 3:24 pm

Re: ISU Four Continents Championship 2023 - Colorado Springs, USA - Feb. 7-12
The ISU YouTube stream once again has commentary by Chris Howarth who is rinkside in Colorado Springs.

The first skater of the 23 Women was Canada's Sara-Maude Dupuis - she did a good job and was in the lead until we got to Group 3 (of 4).

The Ice Academy of Montreal (I.AM) coaches will be busy at this event - they have 9 of the 13 ice dance couples; they represent 6 different countries:
Marjorie Lajoie & Zachary Lagha
Laurence Fournier-Beaudry & Nikolaj Sørensen
Marie-Jade Lauriault & Romain Le Gac
Madison Chock & Evan Bates
Christina Carreira & Anthony Ponomarenko
Holly Harris & Jason Chan
Charlotte Lafond-Fournier & Ricky Kam
Shiyue Wang & Xin Yu Liu
Misato Komatsubara & Tim Koleto

Coming up first today, the Pairs SP: http://www.isuresults.com/results/seaso ... SEG005.htm
CBC Player link: https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/2169985091649

The effects of the altitude in Colorado Springs could be seen and felt by the skaters in the SPs yesterday. I expect it will be even more challenging for the Pairs. Fingers crossed that, as with the lyrics of the first Pair, they will "survive"!!

They always give out "small medals" to the top 3 after the short program/rhythm dance. Usually the ISU does it at the beginning of the press conference.
