Some may remember Sean Rice who competed in pairs and fours with Jodeyne Higgins back in the 1990s. They were Canadian bronze medalists twice (1993 & 1995) and represented Canada twice at Worlds as well. Competing in fours at the Canadian Championships, Higgins and Rice won gold medals with Scott MacDonald and Alison Purkiss (1994–1996), and Jodi Barnes and Rob Williams (1993). [Alison Purkiss is the coach of current silver medalists Walsh & Michaud.]
After retiring from competition Higgins & Rice toured as pairs/adagio skaters aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Sean and Jodeyne both appeared on Torvill & Dean's Dancing on Ice show on British TV, paired with celebrity partners, and skated together on the Dancing on Ice tour.
Jodeyne also participated in Battle of the Blades with hockey player Ken Daneyko.
Jodeyne & Sean were married and they had a daughter Signey in 2013.
