Event #2 Junior Grand Prix 25-28 Aug 2021 - Courchevel, FRA

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Event #2 Junior Grand Prix 25-28 Aug 2021 - Courchevel, FRA

Post by Elizabeth »

Entries (& official substitutes) by discipline: http://results.isu.org/events/fsevent00110954.htm

Some of the skaters who participated in Event #1 are remaining for the 2nd event.

Once again, there will be no Russian or Japanese skaters participating, based on issues related to public health & travel restrictions.

The entries for this event (as well as for event #3) have been updated today. It appears that it has been decided, by some countries, to keep some skaters in Courcheval for event #2 who had originally been slated to participate in #3. This seems very wise in terms of reducing travel, especially internationally. It does not appear to impact the CDN team as originally announced, some of whom were already planned to do both the Courcheval events.

Thanks for the info. That was a very good idea.

The entries/start orders/results page is now available: http://www.isuresults.com/results/seaso ... pfra22021/

The detailed time schedule for tomorrow's two events and the first event on Friday can also be found at that link.

A reminder that Courcheval is 6 hours ahead of EDT.

Here's the time schedule in EDT from Danielle Earl:

The live stream, with Ted Barton's commentary, will be on the ISU Junior Grand Prix YouTube channel - individual links by event are already to be found there, marked "Courchevel 2": https://www.youtube.com/c/isujuniorgrandprix
Also there are videos of competition, interviews, and the Gala from "Courchevel 1" which took place last week.

If you don't want to watch the whole stream of the Men's SP, you might want to watch that of the leader, the last to skate: https://youtu.be/lkCu-sn5bic

Sadly, after winning a medal last week, Canadian ice dancers Miku Makita & Tyler Gunara had to withdraw from the rhythm dance today citing illness. Ted Barton assured us that it was not COVID-related as they had tested negative; he suggested it might be "food related".

Two ISU Junior Grand Prix events completed and two Canadian medals achieved at each - well done team!! :D

With the addition of the Russian skaters (in double the numbers) will make next week's event challenging.
