The toll of pandemic on Russian skating continues

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

The toll of pandemic on Russian skating continues

Post by Elizabeth »

As has been reported in various threads, several skaters (and some coaches) have had to miss training and competitions due to positive test results.

Russian nationals is coming up and it appears that there will be skaters who will not be able to compete - the latest news is that Evgenia Medvedeva will not compete at Russian nationals. She said she was in hospital with a serious case of COVID-19 and suffered serious lung damage. She apparently resumed light training on Dec. 8. (This is, of course, on top of her back problems that kept her out of several competitions already :( )

Concerning news for sure. This may spell the end of Evgenia's career.
