Ontario Sectionals - streaming on CBC - Nov. 21 & 22

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Ontario Sectionals - streaming on CBC - Nov. 21 & 22

From: https://skateontario.org/sectionals-str ... s-weekend/
The 2021 Skate Ontario Sectional Championships that recently took place over 7 days in 6 locations will be streaming this weekend on CBCSports.ca, CBC Gem and on the CBC Sports App for iOS and Android this Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22.

Short/rhythm programs will take place on Saturday and free programs on Sunday. Both days the stream will begin at 6:00pm ET.

Although the format of this event may have looked different than in year’s past, it was the first step in order to qualify for the 2021 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships scheduled for February.

Join us this weekend as we watch Ontario’s Junior and Senior skaters competing from Milton, Toronto, York, Aylmer, Ottawa and Peel as they vie for a spot to compete at the Skate Canada Challenge and ultimately the National Championships.

The programs streamed on Saturday were the short programs for the Junior and Senior skaters who hope to advance to the Challenge. This evening it will be the free programs.

There were a few "breaks" in the stream on CBC but I was told that they were also available on the Skate Ontario Dailymotion channel: https://www.dailymotion.com/skateontario

The results for the Junior and Senior skaters who competed in the Sectionals are now posted by category here: https://skateontario.org/event/skate-on ... onships-2/

These results will be used to determine who will advance to Challenge on the way to the national championships. A number of skaters already have a "bye".

As a reminder from: https://skatecanada.ca/2020/10/skate-ca ... on-update/
The remote 2021 Skate Canada Challenge competition will take place from January 11 – 17, 2021 and will allow Canadian skaters to participate from their home regions virtually with live officiating providing each with an opportunity to qualify for the 2021 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships. The date for submitting video submissions for the junior and senior disciplines will be announced shortly.

The 2021 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships are still scheduled to take place in person in Vancouver, B.C., at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre. However, the event will now take place on February 8 – 14, 2021. The number of competitors has been reduced to accommodate safety protocols. Only junior and senior categories will compete, and each discipline will only have two flights of skaters. More details surrounding that event will be available later this year.
