2019/20 ISU GP - Event #1 - Skate America - Las Vegas - Oct. 18-20

The first event of the six Grand Prix events for this season will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As updated in the other threads, it appears that, since there is no contract (yet) with a broadcaster for Canada, our option for watching this event will be the ISU Skating Channel on YouTube with some limited NBC TV coverage.

This is unclear from the ISU's own list of places where the YouTube channel could be geoblocked and where Canada is mentioned with broadcaster CBC!?!?

I am trying to get a clear answer from the ISU and or CBC Sports but we may have to wait until Thursday to find out!!

Just when you thought you knew what was going on...

After the ISU posted their "where to watch" list which indicated that CBC would be streaming Skate America, questions were asked by lots of folks (including me) - by e-mail, twitter and phone.

Now there has been a tweet from CBC Sports

⛸ CBC SKATE FANS ⛸

We will stream the @ISU_Figure Grand Prix (except @SkateCanada) beginning with this weekend's #SkateAmerica.

AND...

Watch for the @YouTube
premiere of 'That Figure Skating Show' with @DylanMoscovitch

on Sunday!

Their online schedule has not yet been updated to reflect this information (posted an hour ago)

It is notable that Keegan Messing is in Las Vegas competing less than a month after his brother's tragic death. According to a member of the press

a request has been made for questions to stay on subject with skating vs. personal

I hope that request is respected.

I am currently watching the first group of pairs warming up on the ISU YouTube but it still shows as "coming up" on CBC.

The first two events are done, the arena has been cleared, and there is a break of about 3 hours before the next two events.

I was able to watch both pairs and men on the ISU YouTube. After a delay, CBC finally got their stream going for the pairs and there seemed to be one for the men but I didn't watch it - I was "on a roll" with the ISU.
