2019/20 ISU Junior Grand Prix - Event #1 - Courchevel, France - Aug. 21-24

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Danielle Earl's time difference information has not been posted yet - perhaps because she's on vacation in Ireland :)

FYI Courcheval is 6 hours ahead of EDT.

I don't think I'll be able to manage it this time.

The skating is all being archived on the ISU JGP YouTube channel for those who aren't able to watch it live :D

I've been watching the rhythm dance this morning - two warm-up groups done and two to go after the resurfacing :)

The competition portion of this event is now complete. Canada's team comes away with one medal - a silver in the men's event. Although our top dance team was third in the free skate, they finished in 4th overall (by about 1/2 a point).

I'm not sure why junior skaters receive what appear to be wine decanters as part of their award!?!

The full results in all three disciplines, as well as the detailed protocols, can be found here: http://www.isuresults.com/results/seaso ... gpfra2019/

The exhibition gala will be live streamed on the ISU JGP YouTube channel at 2:30 p.m. EDT; archived videos of the live streams are already available.

Apparently their were some problems with the archived video of the Gala with the music and video out of sync. This has been corrected. The opening number begins after the 12 minute mark: https://youtu.be/O00SiwFK1Qs
