Well-known pairs coach has died

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Professor Jean-François Ballester, age 53, died suddenly at his home in Switzerland after returning from a competition in Tallinn, Estonia. He was the coach of Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot. He actually coached Bruno from the time he was 7 years old. Recently he has been coaching international competitors Valter Virtanen (Finland), Laurine Lecavalier (France) and Miriam Ziegler & Severin Kiefer (Austria).

I never knew him, although I may have seen his students from time to time. May he have blessings.

Sad! I wonder what the problem was! He was so young! I remember him on the sidelines.
