According to the latest update on GP entries below, both Larkyn Austman & Gabrielle Daleman have withdrawn from SCI and Dabin Choi of Korea has withdrawn from both of her events.

Would be interesting to know why and if they will skip the Grand Prix altogether.

Dabin Choi is out of both her GPs. Gabby is still listed for her 2nd one but that might change - she skated at the Challenger event in the US but not up to her usual standard and recently pulled out of the Japan Open for "poor physical condition" (or words to that effect). Larkyn only had one GP (as a "host pick") - she already pulled out of the Autumn Classic Challenger event.happyheini wrote: Fri Oct 12, 2018 2:21 pm Would be interesting to know why and if they will skip the Grand Prix altogether.
I hope that Skate Canada will add back at least their 2 "host picks" - Veronik Mallet and Alicia Pineault come to mind.

It is good to see that the skaters recognize the importance of mental health and that they attend to their needs.

Although no longer competing, Elladj Balde is keeping very busy. He has been performing in various shows/tours around the world, most recently appearing with Ice Theatre of New York (where the photo below was taken). He is apparently responsible for the choreography for the gala following SCI and will be doing backstage interviews on behalf of Skate Canada.

An "interesting" day of short programs yesterday - some surprising results of both pleasant and sad types.
A successful triple axel by the leader in the ladies short program - the very easy first jump virtually right in front of me. It's interesting to look at the range of GOE on that jump from minus 1 through zero and all the way up to plus 4!

And the medals have all been awarded and, except for the exhibition gala, Skate Canada International is history for another year.

My feline companion and I were both home safely by noon today. It was well worth the drive to Laval for SCI.
Did anyone else watch the coverage of the competition? Thoughts? Commets?
Did they mention when they would air the Gala? I know Tracy, Rod & Brian were there for it and obviously recording.
