Skate Canada Challenge - Dec. 1-5, 2021

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

This event will be taking place in Regina, SK and will include entries from Pre-Novice through Senior. For some levels it will serve as a qualifier to Canadians which will take place in Ottawa in early January.

Schedule: https://skatecanada.ca/wp-content/uploa ... ber-17.pdf

Start Orders/Results: https://skatecanada.ca/2022-skate-canad ... /#tab-id-2
Some skaters have a "bye" to the national championships, due to Grand Prix assignments, for example.

There will be a live stream - details will be posted here: https://skatecanada.ca/2022-skate-canada-challenge/

Three rinks will be used for the competition (with a practice rink as well) - the schedules by day and by rink can be seen here: https://skatecanada.ca/2022-skate-canada-challenge/ Tabs 5 through 9.

A recap after yesterday's competition from Skate Canada: https://skatecanada.ca/2021/12/stephen- ... challenge/

And a recap interview by Ted Barton with André Bourgeois, Skate Canada NextGen Director: https://twitter.com/i/status/1466986721451687938

You might want to watch the free skate that starts at this point: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x861qgw?start=10468

The protocols: https://cssterminalserv.skatecanada.ca/ ... FP2DRO.pdf
I believe the time violation for the top skater is related to the length of time it took him to get to his start position. I was watching and thought it took too long but didn't have a stop watch, of course

Can you recognize the medal winners in Senior Men with their masks on?
