ISU Grand Prix Series 2020-2021?

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

ISU Grand Prix Series 2020-2021?

Post by Elizabeth »

No decision has yet been taken about whether or not the ISU GP will take place this season - the ISU Council has reportedly scheduled a virtual meeting on August 3rd. This is actually two days after the deadline of August 1st announced earlier with respect to the first scheduled event, Skate America (10 weeks before the event begins).

No competitors have been named for any of the events, something that normally happens in June.

According the announcement from China posted in a separate thread yesterday, the event scheduled for China will not take place there. It could possibly be relocated elsewhere - this has been done before when China backed out of hosting.

The original schedule:
  • Skate America - Las Vegas, NV, USA - Oct. 23-25 [now showing as Provisional Allotment]
  • Skate Canada - Ottawa, ON, CAN - Oct. 30-Nov. 1 [now showing as Provisional Allotment]
  • Cup of China - Chongqing, CHN - Nov. 6-8 [now showing as Provisional Allotment]
  • Grenoble, FRA - Nov. 13-15 [now showing as Provisional Allotment]
  • Moscow, RUS - Nov. 20-22 [now showing as Provisional Allotment]
  • Osaka, JPN - Nov. 27-29 [now showing as Provisional Allotment]
  • Grand Prix Final - Beijing, CHN - Dec. 10-13 [now showing as Provisional Allotment]
