Tonight a one-hour benefit for Americares will be live streamed on multiple platforms. The hosts will be Jason Brown & Gracie Gold.

On April 25th at 2 p.m. EDT there will be another benefit streaming - "Open Ice Live" - this one has been organized by Kaitlyn Weaver and Jordan Cowan (of On Ice Perspectives) and it will benefit the UN Foundation's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

The website for OpenIceLive has been updated with a "teazer" video and an amazing list of participating skaters: https://openicelive.com/

It takes place on April 25th at 2 p.m. EDT and is supposed to last 3 hours. It will be streamed on various sites - the links are on the website.

There is news today that the ISU is supporting the OpenIceLive benefit broadcast on Saturday and will be streaming it on their YouTube channel.

In support of those most affected by COVID-19, Olympic Ice Dancer Kaitlyn Weaver is producing and hosting a one-off talk show called Open Ice. Jordan Cowan, of On Ice Perspectives, is co-producing the project. It will feature some of the World’s best Skaters in the intimate setting of their own homes with the aim to raise funds for the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund the WHO. The International Skating Union (ISU) is supporting the project by Live Streaming it on the Skating ISU YouTube Channel on April 25, 2020, at 14:00 EST (20:00 CET, April 26 at 03:00 JST).

Games, interviews and impromptu performances will vary the pace of the warm and intimate chat hosted in Weaver’s own apartment in New York (USA), with some unscripted moments and unbridled spontaneity guaranteed.

This show has been going on for more than 3 hours with more to come, apparently - the skating community is such a big family and they have had way more donations than their $15,000 goal - right now getting close to double.

We've seen several skating families with babies and even a "battle of the Brians 2" with rock, paper, scissors!!

In her appearance on OpenIceLive, Joannie Rochette revealed that she had completed her final classes at McGill University on Friday and will be working in Quebec's long-term care homes during the COVID-19 crisis.
