Renowned British Ice Dance Coach, Joan Slater, MBE, has died

She was a former competitive skater (in singles, pairs and dance), a decorated coach, and the mother of Nicky Slater (who competed as an ice dancer with partner Karen Barber against Torvill & Dean).
