Well, 2018 Worlds are now in the history books and the spots for 2019 Worlds in Saitama, Japan have been determined.

Here's what Jackie Wong (www.rockerskating.com) posted on Twitter as he was flying back to the USA (thankfully with wifi on the plane!):
  • Qualified # of entries for 2019 Worlds - Pairs
    3: RUS
2: GER FRA ITA CAN CHN
    1: All other countries
  • Qualified # of entries for 2019 Worlds - Ladies
    3: CAN JPN RUS
    2: BEL ITA USA
    1: All other countries
  • Qualified # of entries for 2019 Worlds - Men
    3: JPN RUS USA
2: CAN CZE ISR LAT UZB
    1: All other countries
  • Qualified # of entries for 2019 Worlds - Ice Dance
    3: CAN ITA USA
    2: FRA RUS
    1: All other countries
Canada will lose one spot in pairs, going down from 3 to 2, but retain the 2 spots in men and the 3 spots in ladies and ice dance.

Yeah, now just a short summer hibernation and off we go again. What an exciting season it has been. The Canadian team has done exceptionally well and there is so much talent to keep the momentum going. Congratulations to one and all. And big thank you tho Elizabeth who made sure we would not miss anything along the way.

Thanks for that info. Who would have thought years ago that Canada would be in this position in Ladies! Kudos to Skate Canada for rebuilding that discipline as well as others. Now we're in a rebuilding stage to some degree but we have a lot of depth of talent. Keegan is quite impressive. He's a "late bloomer" but I think he still has a few years left at this level. I guess time will tell.
