McIntosh & Mimar don't yet have the TES required for competing at Junior Worlds. They said in their post-skate interview with Ted Barton & Meagan Duhamel that they are off to compete at the Bavarian Open that will take place Jan 18-23, 2022, in Oberstdorf, Germany to try to get those. With skates like they did here, that shouldn't be a problem.

The young man in the image above is Grayson Long (age 14) - he has been a fast-rising skater over several years. I remember first meeting him at Minto Summer Skates quite a few years ago (as a juvenile and then a pre-novice) and he has been steadily going upward ever since. After today's short program he's sitting in first place

Today is the final day of competition for the Juniors at Canadians. Medals will be awarded at the end of the each of the two events.

With the exception of the postponed (to an unknown future date) Novice Championships, Canadians is over for this year.

I would definitely have liked to be in the Arena at TD Place to cheer on the skaters in person. However, I have to admit that being at home had some positive features, not the least of which was the ability to concurrently follow and watch the streaming from the US Nationals last week and from Europeans this week. I am definitely grateful that for the rest of this week it will only be the Europeans though

Also, as I may have said before, I didn't have to wear a mask or line up for washrooms

Four Continents Championships, with Canadian participation is next week, and then it will be a little break before the Olympics

I've felt much the same and my flight times were absolutely dreadful, so in that way it was a relief. My roommate had a family matter arise and so it really was better for her to be with her family instead of being out of town in Ottawa. Sometimes things happen for a reason. I did steam when I heard someone flew (from here) to be a volunteer in Ottawa with her daughter. GRRR I've adjusted now, lol.
