Austalian pairs skater dead at 20

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Ekaterina & Harley made history together when they were competing - this is very sad news:

According to news reports she was back in Moscow where her widowed mother lives; her death is reported to be a suicide :(

It's so sad when someone so young dies for whatever reason. The CBC has the story but they only say that the cause of death is not announced, so it must have been very recently that that came out.
Prayers for all who loved her.

At the end it says:

There was a memorial service for Katya held in Sydney, Australia at the Sydney Skating Club - it was live streamed last evening (our time) and can see viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgYRMmYcCEU

An international Go-Fund-Me effort raised some $12,000 in about 24 hours - it was used to "flood" her Moscow funeral with flowers, to assist her mother with funeral expenses, etc.

If only she had known how much she was loved and had asked for help :(
