Canada's Kaetlyn Osmond took one final bow on Thursday.
The 23-year-old announced her retirement from figure skating as the country's most decorated female singles skater of all-time, having earned three Olympic medals, two world championship medals and three national titles in her career.
Osmond, who was born in Marystown, N.L., but lives in Edmonton, won gold at the 2018 world championships just one month after earning individual bronze and team event gold at the Pyeongchang Olympics.
Osmond retires as one of four Canadian women to ever win worlds, and the first since Karen Magnussen in 1973.

By the way, the ladies on Battle of the Blades are usually either pairs skaters or ice dancers and, depending on the CBC broadcast schedule, would likely need to be available when the Rock the Rink tour is in rehearsals and touring. Kaetlyn is part of the announced cast of the tour.
What a lovely video. She gave an interview on CBC Edmonton this morning. She really accomplished so much under often very difficult conditions. So yes, thank you Kaetlyn we will miss you but hope to see you often in shows.
What a journey it’s been!!! It feels like a lifetime ago but I still remember Kaetlyn’s first lesson. It was immediately obvious that she had a special talent, but I could never have predicted she would retire from skating as Canada’s most decorated female singles skater in history!
She worked so hard to develop the total package - a perfect combination of athleticism and artistry. And she became such a fierce competitor to deliver her best performances when it mattered the most. It wasn’t easy and there were many struggles, but Kaetlyn faced every obstacle with determination and the attitude of a champion.
I want to say thank you to her parents (Jackie and Jeff) who always trusted and supported me and to all the amazing experts that helped her (Lance, Susan, Tara, Lynne, Hugo, Jeff, Sean, Josiane, Ben, Monika, Marni, Doug, Mike, Kelly, Anna, Jessica, Josee, and many more). It really does take a village to raise a champion!
Kaetlyn - it’s been a privilege to work with you for so many years. You have made me and all of Canada so proud! It was so incredible to stand at the boards and watch you peak at just the right moments. Your accomplishments are so impressive, but what sets you apart is your character and the class you showed along the way. You have inspired a new generation of Canadians and I know there will be many more exciting things in your future!
I saw her interview on CBC Newsnet. I was sad that she was retiring, but I could see the writing on the wall. She will be missed.
