However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Dylan Moscovitch, 33, announced his retirement from competitive figure skating today.
"Skating was my first love and forever my passion. Representing Canada on both the World and Olympic stages has been an honour and a privilege," he said.
"I can't thank my family, friends and fans enough for the endless support they've given me throughout the years ... I'd also like to thank all of my coaches, trainers, choreographers, training mates ... my partners Kyra, Kirsten and Luba for the priceless memories and experiences throughout my career and I wish Kirsten and Luba the best of luck in their respective careers in the years to come.
Looking to the future, Moscovitch plans to stay involved with skating through coaching, seminars and mentoring. He has signed with B&M Models and is planning on pursuing an acting and commentary career.
His skating partner, Lubov Ilyushechkina will be evaluating her opportunities in the coming months.
We wish Dylan all the best in his new ventures and look forward to seeing him on the other side of the boards in the future.
Good luck to Dylan, we will miss him but it seems he will not be out of the skating world for good.
I hope Luba will find a suitable partner, which may make for exciting competitions.

I'm so thankful to have him as my careful partner, my patient guide, my inspiring example, talented skater, persevere athlete and a very close friend.
He gave so much to the skating world. His charisma never left people indifferent, his friendliness opened up the most sceptical hearts and his dedication inspired many people to keep pushing and not to give up.That's how people know Dylan.
From the depth of my soul I wish you, Dylan, to be the way you are. I'm sure there are many exciting adventures waiting for you, many new people to meet, many different opportunities to explore and i wish you all the luck and success in any direction that you choose. I truly believe that you deserve only the very best.
Even though I knew this was happening, I'm very sorry to read it officially. Dylan has long been one of my favorite skaters. I had expected he & Lubov would continue to skate professionally, so the fact that the partnership has dissolved is very sad to see. I hope Dylan can find a place in commentating, so we get to see his amazing energy for years to come. Congratulations on a brilliant career!
Sadly "professional" skating opportunities are few and far between these days in North America. An annual Stars on Ice tour is hardly enough to sustain skaters who don't have other opportunities, especially skaters without Olympic medals
The busiest areas for tours/shows are in Japan, Russia and some parts of Europe.

That's very true. It makes you wonder how that will impact the skaters of the future. Why put in so much time and effort if there is nothing to hang your hat on at the end?
