How times have changed - from 1 quad to 6!

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

This is the 30th anniversary of Kurt's quad at the 1988 Worlds in Budapest - it was the very first successfully landed in competiton. Here's a video that includes both Kurt's success and previous attempts: https://youtu.be/kxpCu8wRv14

Yesterday Nathan Chen won the 2018 Worlds with a free skate that included 6 quads!!

Who could have imagined where things would go?

Some thoughts from Kurt via Twitter on this anniversary:
I sometimes feel that a cap on the # of quads is a good thing but then we would not see Nathan making jumping history with beautiful spins and footwork?
Maybe too many failed quad attempts put a dark cloud on the men’s long programs, but do we tell them not to go for it?
Their athletic abilities are so high that I am dumbfounded
Can the new multiquad era exist in unity with artistry?
Would restricting the # help the big picture?
