RIP Alex Trebek

Post by Elizabeth »

Alex succumbed to his pancreatic cancer early this morning at the age of 80. It was announced on Twitter:
Jeopardy! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. Thank you, Alex.

Jackie Wong of RockerSkating paid tribute to Alex today -
I learned English after I immigrated to the US by watching TV. Game shows made up a huge part of that learning; Jeopardy was my favorite. It was a lifelong goal for me to get there.

Thank you, Alex Trebek. You’ve changed the trajectory of people’s lives without even knowing it.

I’m incredibly privileged to have met you. You were / are / will be a legend among legends.

It's very sad indeed! He was a great man who will be missed. Has anyone read his memoir/book that came out recently?
"At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.” (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis)
