Update on Gabrielle Daleman...

I'm glad she's doing better at least enough to compete.

As someone who was severely bullied in school, it makes me wonder if that somehow contributed as she has been very vocal about the fact that she experienced this as well. I had a discussion with another teacher who also experienced bullying in school and in her case about her weight. She said, "It never leaves you" and I was in complete agreement. I still see its impact even as a 58 year old lady who experienced it 45-50 years ago...probably in my self-confidence in certain situations. Now I am not one to be trite about mental illness and clinical depression as I've experienced it in my family. I lived with someone chronically Depressed and it's no picnic for the individual or his/her loved-ones. She has my sympathies and I'm glad she's trying to help others which says something about her strength as an individual.
