Thanks. I'm unlikely to catch the beginning at least. Hopefully they will show the replay. I'll look and see how many skaters there are. Maybe I can see the later flights. I like this event...

The start order for the men's FS: http://www.isuresults.com/results/seaso ... SEG002.HTM

The detailed time schedule (beginning at 4 a.m. EST): http://www.isuresults.com/results/seaso ... hedule.pdf

The men will be followed by the ladies - the information on them is in another post above.

In the ladies FS, will we see a quad or two?? This is from International Figure Skating magazine:
Alexandra Trusova, 13, won the ladies short @ World Juniors today. She said: “I have two quads (Salchow and toeloop) in my free skating and I want to land them and skate clean."

Unfortunately, CBC seems to have a problem with the live stream for the men's FS this morning - I get an "Error 404" when trying to watch.

I have only been able to follow the competition via the ISU results page :(

There were some very interesting changes of position after the SP!! Here's the final results: http://www.isuresults.com/results/seaso ... T001RS.HTM

Canada's Joseph Phan competed much earlier (the last skater in group 2) but had quite the skate based on his final standing, just off the podium! I found a video online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blsQxZCQwpI
Here's a video for the other CDN, Conrad Orzel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkXmgbyLc28

Here are the protocols: http://www.isuresults.com/results/seaso ... Scores.pdf and the ISU official report: https://t.co/hqD7HcEsZK

As noted in the Worlds thread, Matteo Rizzo will need to get some rest before his 12th competition of this season!!

Today he was the first Italian man to medal at Junior Worlds and first Italian skater since Carolina Kostner in 2003 to stand on the podium.

History was made in the ladies free skate...
  • 1989: Surya Bonaly became 1st woman to attempt a quad jump
  • 2002: Miki Ando became 1st woman to land a clean quad in competition
  • 2018: Alexandra Trusova RUS became 2nd woman to land a clean quad in competition AND 1st woman to land 2 clean quads in 1 program AND 1st woman to land a quad toe
I believe she had the 3rd highest free skate score ever - behind her two compatriots (and training mates), Zagitova & Medvedeva.

The Victory Ceremony: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1iWulwYdcU

Here's the detailed protocol:

She will not be old enough to compete at Worlds until Montreal in 2020 - will she still be around or will a new "wunderkind" have replaced her?!?

Wow, I don't think we have to worry about figure skating getting boring after our favourite skaters are retiring.

Only half of the Men's FS is shown on CBC so I haven't seen the conclusion. Yes, I know it's elsewhere but I haven't had the time to search for the rest. I wrote to them, but haven't heard back. They say Men's FS like it's the whole thing, but it stops after Joseph Phan. I've always liked his skating...good for him.

I posted about a problem with the live stream of the men's FS at the time that it was actually going on. Apparently they weren't able to retrieve the video.

You might be able to find it on www.rockerskating.com as Jackie Wong has many of the programs up.
