Abuse-Free Sport Registry information now live

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Abuse-Free Sport Registry information now live

Post by Elizabeth »

The Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner has made the Abuse-Free Sport Registry available online: https://registry.abuse-free-sport.ca/

I believe that there are currently four Skate Canada-related entries. The first of the four is considered a Sanction (and it is under appeal):

The other three are Provisional Measures:

Provisional measures are restrictions or limitations placed upon a Respondent alleged to have violated the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport in order to protect sport participants from potential harm while the Abuse-Free Sport complaint process is ongoing. Provisional measure(s) are not sanctions and may take various forms.

They may be issued by the Director of Sanctions and Outcomes prior to any investigation being conducted or any decision being rendered about what occurred, and are based on unproven allegations. The Respondent may challenge a provisional measure before the Safeguarding Tribunal within 21 days.
