From USFS regarding the entries for Sr Women:
A further post indicated that Ava's withdrawal was to allow her time to prepare for the 4CC as she had already been named to the US team for that competition.Ava Marie Ziegler has withdrawn from U.S. Nationals. She is replaced by Brooke Gewalt.

I was looking forward to watching skating tonight, but I'm having trouble with the reception on NBC. It keeps starting and stopping. No one can watch skating when it keeps freezing. We'll see how it goes!

They spent the first hour rehashing things from the Men SP and yesterday's Women SP and only actually started the live coverage when the 2nd group took the ice after the resurfacing.

Thank you. I heard it at least. I have found another way to watch through a friend, so am happily watching the live coverage.

In rather a shocking turn of events in the Sr. Women FS, the defending champion fell 3 times in her free skate and fell to 3rd place overall!
The results:
Amber Glenn landed her triple axel but under-delivered on other parts of her program - she left the ice crestfallen but Isabeau's troubles left Amber in 1st place. She won the Gold medal at the Junior Nationals 10 years ago.
The medal ceremony
The medalists, including the pewter medalist, at the press conference
In other news
Mia Kalin landed the first-ever clean quad performed in the senior women’s event at the U.S. Championships, a quad toe.
More history
Announced by Amber Glenn today

Re: 2024 US Figure Skating Championships - Columbus, OH - 22-28 Jan. 2024
The Free Dance event this afternoon was a real roller coaster -
Despite being sick with the flu, Madison Chock and Evan Bates won their 5th U.S. title; Christina Carreira & Anthony Ponomarenko took the silver (and won the free dance portion); Emily Bratti & Ian Somerville won their 1st senior medal - the bronze, Caroline Green & Michael Parsons finished 4th. For a time it was uncertain if Maddie & Evan would even skate; they had skipped practices earlier. Apparently Evan was convinced by Maddie to compete as "it might be the last Nationals". I was unimpressed seeing them maskless around other skaters and coaches as well as during an interview afterward; they finally donned them for the press conference. In theory, they are to fly out tomorrow morning to compete at the 4CC!
Medal ceremony
The "huddle" on the podium - I would have avoided this with the illness in the air...

Well the Pairs FS was "interesting" - as in the Ice Dance, the gold medalists were 2nd in the free program.
The 2nd and 5th place finishers can not yet compete for the US internationally as both Efimova and Parkman are awaiting releases from their previous federations.
It is Danny O'Shea's 2nd US Pairs championship - he won in 2016 with his previous partner Tarah Kayne.

In the final event of @024 US Nationals, it was the Sr Men - to no one's surprise, Ilia Malinin finished on top - he opened with a quad axel but his overall skate was below his usual standard. The veteran, Jason Brown, finished in 2nd spot this year in his first competition of the season. Camden Pulkinen won his very first Senior medal with the bronze.

This evening the "gala" will be taking place - some of those who would normally perform are already on their way to Shanghai for 4CC.
NBC will broadcast the "Skating Spectacular" on February 4th. I understand that the line-up will include Jason Brown skating to a live orchestra.

After being named to the Worlds team, Camden Pulkinen has withdrawn from the 4CC.
“With the recent announcement of my selection to the 2024 Worlds Team, I have decided to withdraw from Four Continents. I will be prioritizing my recovery & training heading into Montreal. I am thankful for all the support throughout this year’s U.S. Championships and I’m looking forward to representing Team USA at Worlds.”
