ISU GP#2 - Skate Canada International 2023 - Vancouver - Oct. 27-29

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

From Ted Barton on Instagram
Join me and co host Joni McPhail, Kaitlyn Weaver, Kirsten Moore Towers, Kevin Reynolds and Kaetlyn Osmond for the practice sessions and competition Thursday through Saturday at Skate Canada International here in Vancouver. Go to skatecanada.ca to access the stream.
This would appear to be the link where the stream will be shown, I believe it is from the Skate Canada DailyMotion channel: https://skatecanada.ca/2023-skate-canad ... ive-stream

From an e-mail just received from Skate Canada
Skate Canada Announces 2023 Skate Canada International Broadcast Team
Skate Canada is pleased to announce the talented team of former high performance athletes that will bring a fresh approach to skating coverage at 2023 Skate Canada International, which will take place in Vancouver, B.C., from October 27-29, 2023.

Our live stream will welcome back Kevin Reynolds, Kaetlyn Osmond, Kirsten Moore-Towers, and Kaitlyn Weaver, along with host Ted Barton to provide us with in-depth commentary throughout the week for English viewers. French viewers will also receive top-notch coverage throughout the event as Alicia Pineault, Charlie Bilodeau, Élisabeth Paradis, and Laurence Darveau make their live stream debut.

This enhanced production aims at providing positive analysis of our sport and a supportive approach to help skaters on their individual journeys to achieve excellence. Fans can stream 2023 Skate Canada International on skatecanada.ca, CBC.ca, or CBC Gem. These will be the only places to watch this prestigious event, as there will be no network broadcast.

Some parts of the world switch away from "summer" time overnight on Saturday night but Canada and the US don't change until later in the month.

During the practices yesterday Nam Nguyen was busy in the stands - there were a lot of students there at the invitation of Skate Canada and he was telling them what was happening and encouraging them to cheer.

A WARNING - if you are "approached" to be a friend on Facebook by what purports to be Skate Canada International decline the invitation - it is a spam page trying to get your credit card # to allow you to watch the event!!! As you should know, there is no charge to watch the stream.
Sadly, several skating fans have accepted the friends invitation already which has made others think it is legitimate.

The page has been reported but I don't know if Facebook has taken it down yet.

For those in Canada hoping to watch the ISU YouTube stream, it appears that it has been geoblocked in Canada, making the stream being done by Skate Canada Productions as the only game in town as I believe it is also being used by CBC, instead of the ISU stream, for this event.

Mark Hanretty is commenting on the ISU feed.
