OTTAWA, ON (January 29, 2025) – Skate Canada is pleased to announce the host cities of the 2025 Skate Canada International and the 2026 Canadian National Skating Championships, the organization’s preeminent domestic events for the 2025-2026 skating season.
Last held in Saskatoon in 2001, Skate Canada International will return to the prairies this fall from October 31 to November 2, 2025. Hosted at SaskTel Centre, Saskatchewan’s go-to destination for sports and entertainment, the event will attract some of the best skaters from Canada and around the world as they compete at the third stop on the annual International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating series.
After a sold-out event in Laval this January, the Canadian National Championships will return to Quebec in 2026. Taking place from January 5-11, 2026, the event will be held at Gatineau’s Centre Slush Puppie, a new state-of-the-art sport facility. The week-long event will feature the top skaters from across Canada and will mark the city of Gatineau’s first time hosting the National Championships. The event will culminate with the announcement of the athletes who will represent Team Canada at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Italy.
Skate Canada will announce the full details of its 2025-2026 domestic events calendar later this year. Join our exclusive mailing list to be the first to receive event and ticket information for Skate Canada events.

Re: Skate Canada announces locations for SCI 2025 and Canadians 2026
I'd love to go to Saskatoon, such a nice city, but the dates won't work for me this time. I'm considering Canadian Nationals but just not sure if it will be affordable for me with the single person occupancy cost. I did that in Halifax, Ottawa and Regina and it worked out okay. I guess there are advantages & disadvantages to both sharing or "flying solo".
