OTTAWA, ON (August 23, 2023) – Canada’s top figure skaters are set to take part in Skate Canada’s annual High Performance Camp at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ont. from August 29 – September 1, 2023. During the week-long camp, athletes will have the opportunity to perform their competitive programs and receive feedback from international officials to prepare them for the season ahead.
Media are invited to attend on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 to capture videos and photos of the skaters on-ice, as well as scrum interviews at the times indicated below. Coaches and Skate Canada High Performance Director Mike Slipchuk will also be available on request for interviews during the media scrums.
Skate Canada's high-performance camp is a clear sign that it's time for the country's top skaters to hit the ice for real in a new campaign. Here's what some of them are thinking.

You know it’s almost skating season when Skate Canada holds its high-performance camp for its top athletes. They’ve all been at Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, this week to show off the work they’ve done all summer and get some valuable feedback before heading off into the fall competitive season.
It’s also a time when folks like me get a chance to catch up with everyone involved, and see what’s new and what’s coming in the months ahead. While this piece doesn’t sum up everything we heard and learned, here’s a sampling of some of the conversation that was shared on an unseasonably cool August morning.

There were a number of media representatives there who have posted short videos, including some interviews and partial performances, on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, etc. One of these was Golden Skate. [Golden Skate also has representation at the JGP in Linz and has been posting photos from there on both X and Instagram.]
