2020 Skate Canada Challenge, Edmonton - Nov. 27-Dec. 1, 2019

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

It takes place at Terwillegar Community Recreation Centre, 2051 Leger Rd NW, Edmonton, AB

The event page is here: https://skatecanada.ca/2020-skate-canada-challenge/

Looking onward from Challenge to the national championships, 12 pairs, 15 dance couples, and 18 singles skaters will compete at nationals in the novice, junior, and senior events.

It appears that, in seniors, no pairs or dance teams will be eliminated via Challenge as there are not any more contenders than the numbers to go to Canadians and, therefore, some are not even competing at Challenge, e.g. Lubov & Charlie who have chosen to continue their preparations for nationals.

Some of the single skaters who have a "bye" are competing at Challenge and regardless of their finish there, they will be part of the 18 in their discipline at Canadians.
