ISU JGP 2018/19 - Event #4 - Richmond, BC - Sept. 13-15, 2018

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Coincidentally, there are no JGP events next weekend. This means that Ted Barton is free to be in Ontario to announce on the live stream of the Autumn Classic Challenger Series event. He just mentioned this on the live stream of the Junior Ladies SP. Skate Canada had announced earlier today that the Autumn Classic live stream will be available world wide :)

Great!! Wow, he's sure being kept busy this year! That's great as we all like hearing his commentary.
"At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.” (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis)

Is anyone watching the first (and only) JGP event in North America this season?

There were some surprises and some disappointments in the first day of competition.

I'm here. Didn't watch women but did see dance and men. Definitely surprise in the men. This is the first time I've seen Stephen live. Dispite a less than stellar skate, he definitely has presence on the ice. He landed beautiful jumps during the warm-up.

If you've checked results you'll know he still has a shot at the podium if he skates his best. But not being in the last flight for the free here certainly is a disappointment for him after winning his first ever Jr GP.

I'm glad you're there, Judy. I'm sure Stephen was very disappointed but all three CDN men are in good position. I enjoyed Iliya's skate; Beres looked like he was in pain when he was getting off the ice/sitting in the K'nC.

I'm watching it all on the YouTube stream as well as following the results from the Lombardi and US Challenger events - a busy weekend :)
