ISU JGP 2018/19 - Event #3 - Kaunas, LIT - Sept. 6-8, 2018

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

This is the first time a JGP event is being held in Lithuania. I hope their internet connections are better than those they had for last week's event where there was a lot of buffering, etc. on the live feed.

I like Joseph Phan. More early mornings...oh boy. He's the 10th skater, so I can't get up too late. As always, thanks for all the info.

In the final group of the marathon junior ladies free skate, Alexandra Trusova attempted a quad lutz (ruled under rotated), fell on a fully rotated quad toe, and landed a quad combo (quad toe; triple toe). The combo scored the highest ever number of points for a block of jumps for a Lady, according to ISU records: 4T+3T = 16.14 (BV 13.70). Watch her full skate here: https://youtu.be/eJ3GvpMh_cE

She had a significant lead after the SP and went on to win the competition. The silver medalist, Yelim Kim from Korea, moved up from 4th after the SP. A second Russian, Kseniia Sinitsyna, placed third. This broke the strong of Russian 1-2 finishes from the previous two events.
