New Bev Smith articles on Alaine Chartrand & Patrick Chan

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Thanks for the articles. I think Chan is wise to scale back, preventing injury. It seems Canada has a legitimate shot at the gold in the team event. Wow, it's a tad confusing with Chan and Chen. I think the whole program is SO important. I am not a fan of skaters landing every quad in the book in one program. Skating has lost something because of taking the jumping-bean thing too far. I hope they will limit the tricks in the future so that the other elements are not overshadowed, very much like in the past when jumps and spins seemed to be the only thing people noticed. I believe Brian Orser would have won Olympic gold under the COP.
