It is so inspiring to watch these extraordinary athletes compete! I am in awe of what some of them have been able to achieve in light of their various challenges.
For those in Canada - CBC has extensive coverage especially via streaming but also on TV. Due to the time difference, much of the latter is delayed hightlights. Their home page for this event: https://www.cbc.ca/sports/paralympics

And in some more uplifting news, the two members of the Afghanistan Paralympic Team have arrived at the Olympic Village in Tokyo after spending some time sheltering (and training) in Paris: https://www.paralympic.org/news/ipc-sta ... ympic-team
Their flag had been paraded in the opening ceremonies in hopes that they might be able to get there somehow

They are truly the best athletes! It is incredible what they can accomplish!!
I've watched a bit but I've had trouble keeping up with the television coverage. I want to see the medal wins and have to go to the website to do so.

I have found that the best "summary" coverage is the one hour in the early evening on TV (7-8 p.m.) - they usually have the medals and the interviews.kittykins wrote: Thu Sep 02, 2021 4:11 pm They are truly the best athletes! It is incredible what they can accomplish!!

Re: Paralympics in Tokyo
Following the amazing achievements of these exceptional athletes has been rather uplifting and a nice distraction for all the "news" happening around us these days.
The closing ceremonies are on tomorrow - live in the early a.m. and replayed in the afternoon.
With only one event left in which Canada has a medal chance, the Canadian medal count is down slightly from Rio but, considering the impediments to training for this year's Paralympics, I think the results are excellent. There were some close-to-podium finishes and improvements overall that should keep everyone encouraged to keep on trying!

Devin Heroux of CBC has posted an excellent story about his time in Japan from before the opening ceremonies of the Olympics through the closing ceremonies of the Paralympics: https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/toky ... -1.6165439
His upbeat, supportive reporting and cheerleading has been remarkable - I have followed him throughout via Twitter, even seeing the meals he was enjoying from the "conbini" attached to his hotel.
