Stars on Ice 2020 - TOUR CANCELLED

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Stars on Ice 2020 - TOUR CANCELLED

Post by Elizabeth »

From: https://www.starsonice.ca/welcome.html

The Stars on Ice tour for 2020 has been announced - there are 12 stops listed across Canada from Halifax to Victoria and then 2 stops in mid-May in California!! It appears that there is only one North American tour which is primarily a Canadian tour!

[There are also two special shows taking place in late December 2019 - in Reading, PA and Lake Placid, NY. but they are not listed on the website and are being advertised separately and with a slightly different cast from that announced for the tour, so far.]

The skaters announced so far for 2020:
  • Nathan Chen *
  • Meryl Davis & Charlie White
  • Kurt Browning
  • Elvis Stojko
  • Patrick Chan
  • Kaetlyn Osmond
  • Kaitlyn Weaver & Andrew Poje
Plus more skaters are to be announced "soon" [or, as the website says elsewhere: "plus many of the world’s best straight from the 2020 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal this spring."]

* not appearing at all locations

News just announced yesterday by Meagan Duhamel on her Instagram.....
Hey World! I’m flipping upside down with excitement to be joining @starsonice again this spring! The road to get there is going to be difficult, if my first attempts skating this past week have been any indication, but I’ll try my best! Mommy and Zoey (and sometimes Mummu and Daddy) are in for some interesting road and air trips!

I've always liked Meagan & Eric's skating. Their technical strengths made it less of a strain to watch them compete. They could always, (nearly always), be counted on to deliver the elements and their artistry was the icing on the cake. Blessings for them both and all those they hold dear.

STARS ON ICE 2020 TOUR CANCELLED

In response to recommendations by the World Health Organization, local bans on mass gatherings, and the closing of the U.S,/Canada border to all but essential travel due to global health concerns regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus), the 2020 Stars on Ice North American tour has been cancelled. This decision was made after careful consideration, as the health and safety of our skaters, staff, partners and fans remain our top priority.

This is the first time in our 34-year history that we have canceled a single performance, much less an entire tour. We thank you for your understanding during this unprecedented time, and look forward to seeing all of you for the 2021 season.

All patrons who purchased tickets may request a full refund. Stars on Ice tickets purchased online or over the phone from the official ticket agencies will be automatically refunded. Patrons who purchased tickets in-person from the venue box offices should contact the point of purchase. Additionally, all Stars on Ice Meet & Greet passes that were purchased for the 2020 tour will be refunded to the original payment method.

Due to the volume of cancellations, please note that it may take up to 30 days to process the refund to your account. If you have not received a refund notification by May 30, 2020, please email us at starsonice@img.com. We appreciate your patience during this time.

In the meantime, we hope you and your family members stay healthy and safe. We will get through this – together.
