However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. Although he wouldn't want anyone to mention it, he was 88 years old.

He was beloved by many skaters, having helped to establish their professional careers.

He was honoured at an event in Minneapolis just 4 months ago.
