That's great! They are such a worthy choice for the honor!

Re: PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics - February 2018 - preliminaries & SCHEDULE
I was unable to find the Olympic figure skating broadcast plans for CBC (and their partners) on their website so I sent them a message. I just got a reply:
Although it is still in the works, you can stay tuned to the online Olympics schedule that is currently being worked on. Please note that neither the schedule nor the website is complete, so you will have to check back closer to the date for a finalized version of both: https://olympics.cbc.ca/schedule/
In the meantime, here is the link to the broadcast schedule, more generally (you can change your location on the right-hand side): http://www.cbc.ca/programguide/daily/to ... television

I guess we'll also have the option of tuning into NBC? However CBC is generally very good about showing things at least through live streaming. Thanks for the info. Elizabeth.

NBC main network will be available in Canada, of course, but the NBCSN will not be. I am not sure whether any of their digital content will be available outside their borders. Of course, their main focus is always on the American participants

The IOC allocated an additional quota place, after the registration deadline had expired, to the qualified figure skating pair (RYOM Tae-ok and KIM Ju-sik) from the NOC of the DPRK.

I believe that announcements must be made by a week from today. There has been a lot of preparatory work already done by the IOC, excluding more than 100 athletes from the 500 names submitted by the various Russian sport federations. Extra drug testing has been done, etc.

The Swedish Olympic Committee has denied Alexander Marjorov an "Olympic ticket" as he failed to meet their unrealistically high score goal at Europeans. The first alternate country is the Philippines and the second alternate is Switzerland. Will Michael Christian Martinez of PHI participate?

Trying to stay healthy and uninjured at the Olympics is important - the former can be a real challenge in the face of the norovirus!

The Olympic Games, says Dr. Bob McCormack, is where the viruses of the world come to meet.
The medical director for the Canadian Olympic Committee has been preaching that to Canada's team of 225 athletes as an outbreak of norovirus threatens to derail the Pyeongchang Olympics.
"They've trained eight to 12 years for this one moment in time when they can prove and perform, and of course it's a tragedy if they get derailed by injury or illness," McCormack said. "A lot of focus has been on injury coming into the Games, but an illness can derail you the same way."
