Quebec Summer Competition - Aug. 9-12, 2018

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Quebec Summer Competition - Aug. 9-12, 2018

The entries by discipline are now available - click on "ordre de départ" for each at: https://resultats.patinage.qc.ca/

Note that effective with this season the short dance is now known as the rhythm dance - this was a change instituted by the ISU.

Well, I hope to watch some of this, but I'll likely struggle with the French to follow what's happening when. Thanks.

Some basics to deal with the schedule:
  • Jeudi = Thursday; Vendredi = Friday; Samedi = Saturday; Dimanche = Sunday
  • Glace = Rink
  • Hommes = Men; Dames = Ladies; Couple = Pairs, Danse = Ice Dance
  • Senior = Senior; Junior = Junior; Novice = Novice
  • Court + Short; Libre = Free
  • Rhythmique = Rhythm (i.e. dance)
The Junior men have finished - they skated their free skates earlier this evening; the senior men skated their short programs this evening.

The junior & senior events all seem to be on Rink 4.

Ok, thanks. Any novice men coming up? Probably the next competition will work out better for me.
