Torvill & Dean - still skating/dancing after all these years

This is where we discuss figure skating and skating related items. How did you favourite skaters perform, and so on? However we never speculate on the private lives of skaters, like who might be going out with whom, because that is poison and is not tolerated here. A good guideline is that if it's not publicly announced, in the papers etc. then it's probably best to leave it alone. Is it a gray area? Then write to me and ask.

Torvill & Dean - still skating/dancing after all these years

Post by Elizabeth » Thu Mar 15, 2018 9:29 am

A video of a performance they did during the British "Dancing on Ice" competition/reality show just completed: ... ture=share

They served as judges for this version of the show, rather than mentors as in the past.

Jayne turned 60 last October and Chris will be 60 in July of this year. It was 34 years ago that they performed their "Bolero" free dance that achieved perfection, according to the Olympic judges.

Fun fact - before becoming Chris's second ice dance partner, Jayne competed in pairs with Michael Hutchenson, including a trip to the European Champions in 1972 as British Pairs Champions! Interestingly, both Jayne & Chris are said to have been involved in the choreography of the pairs free program skated at the 2018 Olympics by Savchenko & Massot.
