Welcome to Fred
Williams' Web Site

In 1987 I left the arms industry for reasons of conscience.
I try to be an exponent of peace and social justice.

My paper on:

The Secret of Money

This is my latest concern and I have put a fair amount of time into it's
preparation. Anyone who is interested in the flow of world events and
in equality and democracy, should read this and pay attention. You don't
have to take my word for anything that I say here. I do urge you to
examine the events in the news and in the world around you and see for
yourself how they support my model or not. NOTE: The second edition
is now released. See it here:
The Secret of Money: Beyond Socialism.

Haiti is a lesson for us all

Haiti has been an impoverished state through the actions of the U.S.,
France, and more recently Canada. The history is important for all
who love freedom to read. It is summed up here
and I highly recommend this reading.
Other Haiti sites you should know about are: Haiti News
and Haiti Action

Music

I play piano, but not as well as some of my friends. There is a piano duo,
Duo Scarbo who are truly magnificent. On the 9th of Feb 2008 I drove
from Ottawa to Brampton to hear them play live with the Brampton
Symphony. I got to chat with them twice before I had to drive home.
It was well worth the trip. These two beautiful women are recognized
as the best duo pianists in the world and if you get a chance to hear
them play, take it. You'll see and hear something really special.
You can find out more at: Duo Scarbo
Order CDs Here

Now I have some other musical friends; folk singers Sara & Kamila who have
two CDs out now and I love their music. Some of their songs are folksy, and
sometimes they draw from country, or jazz, stylings, but it's insightful,

liberated and heartwarming. They have a web site at:
Sara & Kamila's Site
and you can listen to cuts from their latest CD, if you've got your sound
system set up right. Just poke around on their site and you'll find it.

Photograph

I have had an interest in photography since high school.
Here are samples of my cat photographs
You want high speed access for this because the page is large!

Figure Skating

I can now call myself a figure skater, since I have bought
a new pair of figure skates and I skate at the Minto Club in Ottawa.
Some of my Friends skate better then I do, which isn't hard.

The discussion board is a continuation of the discussion board
started by Barbara Underhill. We still owe it's existence to Barb and
she has move on to other things, including her work for child safety with the
The Stephanie Gaets Keepsafe Foundation. The foundation exists to promote
safety for children and it's a very worthwhile cause. Please visit the site and
consider making a donation. I do regularly.

My Figure Skating board is a friendly place where skating fans can discuss
skating and whatever free of trolls and fighting that so often
permeates brother boards. Anyone can read the board.
To post you must be a member.

Fair Trade

As a sideline, I used to sell Organic, Fair-Trade coffee for
Just Us Coffee Roasters' Cooperative.
I still recommend their products.

You can learn more about the Fair Trade Movement at
Transfair Canada.

Cuba

Cuba is much maligned in the mainstream press and even in the
entertainment media. When you stop listening to that and go looking for the
real facts, there are some revelations that will be very surprising for most
people. I've been reading up on the subject and encapsulated a bit on a web page.
Click here for information on Cuba.
